Fabulous 50s
Senior Center
Grant champion: Amy Diezemann

The BEF recently awarded a grant to the Brookfield Senior Center for the “Fabulous 50s” program. Championed by program coordinator Amy Diezemann, this program will have the Senior Center community putting on their saddle shoes to journey back to the 1950s for a unique blend of educational sessions and interactive experiences. Instructed by a local musician from the HARTT School of Music, the class will explore the stories that influenced a generation of music pioneers while enjoying the chart toppers from the 1950s.

Listening to music provides a total brain workout and can reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and pain, as well as improve sleep quality, mood, mental alertness and memory. Dancing and singing along will be encouraged!
