Social Emotional Learning at Whisconier Middle School
The Brookfield Education Foundation funded the RULER Grant for Whisconier Middle School. RULER is an approach to social-emotional learning that has been developed by the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, to teach and foster emotional intelligence in classroom settings, as well as in other contexts including sports, the home and the community at large.
It is the expectation that RULER will improve school climate, and create a culture in which students and adults know that “emotions matter”. Students will learn the skills necessary to regulate their emotions in order to be focused, productive and successful.
