The Sprout Early Learning Backpacks grant was brought to the BEF by the Brookfield Library. Research shows that learning begins at birth; this grant supports early literacy in our community through backpack kits. Thes kits contain books, accompanying materials and tip sheets which will address early literacy practices such as reading, talking, singing, playing and writing.  In addition, the Sprout Early Learning Backpacks will be introduced to the community at a program for parents/caregivers and children by Two Right Feet, performers who promote arts, literacy and school readiness through stories, music and interactive activities. The goal is to inspire interaction between children and parents/caregivers that will promote early literacy.
